Dear friend, Because St. Ann Cemetery records were not always kept as thorough as they could have been, we are now trying to gather as much of the missing information as possible from as many sources as possible. Today we are reaching out to our parish community, asking for your help. If you own a plot in our cemetery, or know of family buried there, (aunts, uncles, parents, great grandparents, siblings etc.) we are asking you now to help us verify our records.
Here is the form (PDF): 2010 Cemetery records
We realize many people have purchased their burial plots ahead of time, and we would like to hear from you, also. We want to be as sure as we can be, that we have all plot and plot owners accounted for and our records are up-to-date. The most efficient way to do this seems to be to start from scratch and rebuild our files from the ground up.
While that may seem like a daunting task, with your cooperation, we should be able to verify the information we already have, add to the information we are sketchy on, or input all of the information we didn't previous have. No matter the category you fall into, you would be helping us, helping your family and helping our future generations by leaving St. Ann Cemetery records in the best shape possible.
If you know of unused graves or graves that are being reserved for a specific family member, please include mention of how many unused graves are there, or if applicable, the name(s) of whom the grave(s) is reserved for.
No detail is too small to mention. Who is buried in the grave(s), their dates of birth and death, and how many empty graves in each plot are so vital to have permanently and accurately recorded. We are so proud of the physical condition of our cemetery, and would love our records to reflect the same care and effort that is put into the cemetery itself.
Please consider completing the other side of this form with as much information as you can, then return it to Debbie at St. Ann's church office, either by mail, stopping in, or placing it in the collection basket, before Sept. 1st. We will also have this form available on our website if you need a second or third one. Just provide the information you have, even if it isn't all the information asked for. Every little bit helps. And again, no detail is too small to mention. (For example if a burial was a cremation or full body burial.)
Thank you so much for taking time to read this and know that your help with this undertaking will have a very positive effect on the cemetery for generations to come.
